TO OUR VALUED FRIENDS OF PIONEER CEMETERY COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS
Work parties start at 9:00 a.m. and finish at noon or early afternoon Saturday work parties are scheduled for the first Saturday in March, but on the second Saturday of the month in April through October.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves.
All necessary tools are available on site
Please note: Volunteers may not participate while having COVID-like symptoms such as high fever, cough, and trouble breathing or if recently exposed to an active case. When official state rulings regarding the pandemic are in effect, volunteers may be asked to wear face masks while working with others in the outdoor setting.
For those who are available to work on weekdays, two additional work parties are scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Monday following the Saturday session and the Monday that follows it two weeks later.
Please note: the final Monday work session in May is a scheduling exception to avoid conflict with Memorial Day observances.

Registering for Work Parties
Work parties of organized groups involving more than four persons will not be scheduled without prior arrangement with the City of Salem Parks and Recreation Volunteer Coordinator, Amanda Sitter. First-time volunteers also: Please contact the Parks and Recreation Volunteer Coordinator to inform the City of your intent to join a work party on any of the announced dates.

After the first-time volunteer has completed a volunteer application form for the City’s Volunteer Coordinator, registration is completed by simply signing the log sheet each day of participation. |
